Flax

lino_prodottiOUR GROWING METHOD
Our organic flax is sown in fall in our farm and threshed in August.
Then it is thoroughly cold pressed (max 37°C) at the farm’s mill OEKOTECK, made in Germany, in order to better preserve its alpha-linolenic acid, omega 3. The conveying screw of the press KOMET-OEKOTEC carries the seeds gently and slowly to the head of the press at the end of the cylinder, where they are pressed at a low temperature.
After sedimentation, the oil is bottled in 100 ml dark glass bottles, placed in heat-insulated polystyrene containers (so not to take light and not to be affected by changes in temperature) and put in refrigerator at constant 4°C, until its sale. It is advisable to keep the oil in the fridge, if just bought.

BENEFITS
“Common flax is one of the few oils where the proportion of three times unsaturated vitamin F, and therefore particularly reactive, exceeds that of twice saturated vitamin F. For this reason it is especially recommended for people who have vitamin F deficiencies.
A diet rich in linseed oil removes easily scaly and dry skin, abnormal thirst, persistent constipation and postprandial meteorism much more easily and quickly than the sunflower oil based diet” (Kousmine, p. 306).
Linseed oil contains high quantities of alpha-linolenic acid, which is also called omega-3, and is expressly mentioned as one of the gentle anti-tumour therapies by the American doctor Ross Pelton (quote), for its ability to inhibit the action of arachidonic acid.
“For patients with malignant tumours, multiple sclerosis, rheumatism, and for those who, after following for two months a diet with balanced fatty acids do not show an improvement in the skin, and for obese patients, sunflower oil, wheat germ oil or linseed oil are used instead. These two oils not only contain linoleic acid, but also linolenic acid, which is the resulting product by the activity of delta-6 desaturase. (…).The dosage of this oil is to be limited to ml. 10 per day (two teaspoons)” (Syburra, p. 89-90).
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the United States identified flax as one of the 6 plants to be studied as a cancer preventive food (CARAGY, AB Cancer-preventive foods and ingredients, Food Technol. 46 (4):65-68 ).

HOW TO USE IT
2 teaspoons of raw linseed oil per day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach.
For example, in Budwig cream as breakfast in the morning:
“2 teaspoons of linseed oil + 4 teaspoons of low-fat white cheese (serè) or low-fat yogurt; beat with a fork until it forms a cream in a cup or in a blender, according to the desired ration (…). The oil must be completely absorbed, so as to obtain a white emulsion. Then add the juice of half a lemon, a well-mashed ripe banana or honey, one or two teaspoons of oil seeds (at your choice flax, sunflower, sesame, almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts, etc. seeds). Freshly ground in an electric coffee grinder, two teaspoons or more of  freshly ground and raw whole grains (at your choice: oat bran or barley, brown rice, buckwheat) and fresh fruit. Raw foods that make up this meal contain the full range of vitamins which are essential for the body” (Kousmine, p. 419).
